Bee's Kiss Cocktail

The Bee’s Kiss is a vintage-style shaken cocktail made with light rum, honey syrup, and just a splash of heavy cream.

It’s a quick, simple cocktail that just needs a good shake. Creamy but light, with a touch of sweetness that makes it stand out. Perfect for when you want something a little different without overcomplicating things.

This recipe comes from The Classic Cocktail Deck: 75 Recipes for the Home Bartender. The cards are organized by spirit, which makes it super easy to flip through and find something based on what you have on hand.

What you'll need

  • Honey syrup
  • Light rum
  • Heavy cream

Make the honey syrup

Warm equal parts honey and water in a saucepan until the honey dissolves, then let it cool before using.

Shake It Up!

Combine the rum, honey syrup, and heavy cream in a shaker with ice, then shake well until frothy. Strain into a glass and finish with some freshly grated nutmeg, if desired.

Tips for Making a Bee’s Kiss

  • Make your honey syrup ahead of time and keep it refrigerated—it stays fresh for about two weeks, so you can have it ready whenever the mood strikes.

  • Use a rum you actually like—this drink’s simple, so good rum makes a difference.

  • Don’t skip the nutmeg if you’ve got it. Just a little sprinkle on top makes it feel special.

  • Shake it long enough to get that nice frothy texture—about 20 seconds is perfect.

  • If you want, chill your glass first so the drink stays cold longer.

Quick to make and easy to enjoy, this tasty classic is one you’ll want to make all summer long. If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what you think, leave a rating on the recipe card or drop a comment below!
